ComEd charges ahead with $100M in EV investments, thousands of new chargers

Northern Illinois utility ComEd has spent for than $100 million in EV and EV charging rebates since launch its Beneficial Electrification program in 2024 — an investment that, along with funding from the Illinois EPA and other Federal grants, has helped drive EV adoption in the state at a rate that’s rapidly outpaced the rest of the nation.

Hyundai is discounting EVs by over $20,000 as price cuts expand beyond the US

After slashing nearly $10,000 off its top-selling EV in the US, Hyundai is now extending the savings overseas. In Australia, the automaker is offering discounts of more than $34,000 AUD ($22,400) on some of its EVs.

Tesla releases ‘more affordable’ Model 3/Y that cost $2k+ more than last week

Tesla’s new ‘more affordable’ models have been released, and they’re stripped-down versions of the Model 3 and Model Y with many missing features. They’re currently the cheapest cars in Tesla’s lineup at base price of $37k and $40k.

But that price is actually more expensive than the cars were a week ago, due to the expiration of the US federal EV tax credit which Tesla CEO Elon Musk pushed for.
