In a world first, solar and wind generated 10% of power for 50 countries in 2021

Wind and solar, the fastest-growing sources of electricity, reached a record 10% of global electricity in 50 countries in 2021, according to a report released today by independent energy think tank Ember. Overall, clean sources generated 38% of the world’s electricity in 2021, beating coal, at 36%.

Rolls-Royce puts all-electric Spectre through winter tests near the Arctic Circle as part of 2.5 million km testing program

British luxury automaker Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has shared the latest update regarding its upcoming all-electric Spectre, as it has endured winter testing in Sweden in temperatures as low as -40℃ (-40℉). With the completion of winter testing, Rolls-Royce has shared that the Spectre has now covered 25% of the 2.5 million planned test kilometers (~1.55 million miles), simulating 400 years of use on the new EV.

The $499 Possway T3 electric skateboard falls into an interesting middle ground between typical road-ready electric longboards and their beefier all-terrain electric board cousins. The chunky wheels and powerful ride combine to offer it a commanding presence that gives you the confidence to tackle more than you might be able to on a conventional electric longboard. Or at least that’s what it did for me when I got the chance to test it out recently.

Vietnamese EV brand Vinfast announces North American manufacturing site will be built in North Carolina

Following entry into the North American market and plans for an HQ on American soil, Vietnamese EV automaker Vinfast, announced that North Carolina will be its new home for US manufacturing. The site in Chatham County, North Carolina, will soon house both an automotive assembly and battery manufacturing plant for Vinfast to build North American EVs like its VF 9 and VF 8.
